Sue Ross Legal are delighted to be working with one of South Yorkshire’s most established and respected Solicitors in the recruitment of an Estate Planning Manager.

This role will involve running a caseload and supporting the Estate Planning team with general queries, and ad hoc requests from the Private Client Advisors. The successful candidate will also be responsible for making sure that Wills, Trusts, and Lasting Power of Attorney documents are legally and technically accurate and compliant.

Main Responsibilities;

  • To conduct complex estate planning matters on behalf of clients
  • Work with Private Client advisors to support the quality and active progression of files
  • Review the preparation of wills, trusts, and Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPA); making sure all documentation is legally and technically accurate and in keeping with client’s instructions.
  • Provide feed-back to Private Client Advisors to ensure we meet a client’s estate planning objectives.
  • Provide quality assurance to make sure all compliance and regulatory standards and processes are met within the estate planning team.
  • To ensure the confidentiality and security of all firm and client information
  • To maintain high standards in processing of client work, both in respect of professional standards and client care
  • To maintain good professional working relationships with external institutions and organisations
  • To maintain good communication / relationships with clients
  • To adhere to agreed practice procedures as determined from time to time, especially as related to quality standards.
  • To achieve agreed financial targets, both in respect of fee income, recording of chargeable hours and credit and disbursement control
  • To ensure the estate planning team achieves agreed financial targets, both in respect of fee income, recording of chargeable hours and credit and disbursement control
  • To achieve any additional targets as specified in the business plan.
  • To provide advice and guidance to other private client staff as directed by the divisional / departmental leader.

This role would suit someone who has;

  • Qualified as a solicitor / CILEX / STEP or with equivalent experience.
  • Strong technical knowledge in estate planning with solid legal and wills writing experience.
  • Strong team-working skills and an ability to build positive relationships with a range of colleagues.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
