Sue Ross Legal are currently recruiting for an Estate Administration Paralegal. Our client is an award winning, reputable South Yorkshire Law firm who operate expert legal services in ranging areas of practice. The suitable candidate will a successful, growing Private Client Department based in the Peak District office. Reporting directly to the lead Lawyer, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive paralegal support on specialised legal matters.

Duties:

• Assist with a specialised caseload.
• Undertake relevant searches.
• Collate and identify all the deceased’s assets and all their liabilities.
• Identify beneficiaries.
• Support the lead lawyer with applying for the grant of probate and Inheritance Tax (where applicable).
• Manage the collection of assets and payment of debts.
• Distribution of legacies.
• Manage interim distribution of residue.
• Preparation of estate accounts.
• Completion of the administration.
• Administration of a client’s personal affairs under Lasting Powers of Attorney and / or Court of Protection.
• Deliver high standards of client care and a first-class customer experience.
• Work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Achieve and deliver key outcomes both for the client and the firm.
• Contemporaneously capture and record time.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Previous office/administration experience
• Previous experience working within the Private Client Department, ideally within a Paralegal position (however administration, secretarial, and assistant experience will also be considered)
• Ability to empathise with the varying needs of the firms clients
• Good time management and organisational skills
• Ability to communicate with people at all levels in all situations
• Ability to work effectively as a team member and equally well autonomously, with little supervision.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
• A professional outlook.
