Sue Ross Legal are recruiting for a Conveyancing Secretary on behalf of a friendly, well established Law firm based in Doncaster. Duties will include;

  • Assisting Conveyancers in the management of caseload by actioning legal procedures as directed by the Conveyancer.
  • Supporting Conveyancers in the maintenance of files.
  • To ensure that clients are dealt with efficiently and politely and that appropriate legal matters are raised with the Conveyancer.
  • Taking instructions, and conducting letter and telephone enquiries as necessary.
  • Drafting completion statements.
  • Liaising with clients, estate agents and mortgage advisers, and generally supporting the Conveyancer in all aspects of their work.
  • Updating clients and other stakeholders in the process.
  • Verifying client identification in accordance with Money Laundering Policy Guidelines.
  • Producing contract documentation in accordance with the company procedure and policy
  • Raising pre-contract enquiries
  • Ordering searches
  • Dealing with the workload which the Senior Conveyancer provides you with on a daily basis
  • Dealing with requests that come in clients for Contract, TR1 and Irrevocable Authority as soon as possible as they will have a courier waiting to take them to the client.
  • Carrying out OS1, OS2, Bankruptcy searches etc.
  • Dealing with post completion work i.e. stamp duty, registrations, dealing with requisitions raised, deeds to lender, deeds to client and closing files
  • To undertake adhoc duties for other fee earners as and when required.

To be considered for this role it is essential that you have a good working knowledge of the conveyancing process, ideally gained within a similar role. You should have excellent typing speeds, have the ability to communicate with clients and third parties at all levels and be a good team player.
