Sue Ross Legal are recruiting for a Completions Assistant on behalf of an established, full-service law firm in Rotherham.

The successful candidate will work as part of the Conveyancing team, to provide legal services in respect of Conveyancing instructions received from Clients and intermediaries.

Key Tasks and Duties:

• To carry out the Conveyancing process in accordance with the agreed service standards
• Submission of Certificates of Title (once signed off by Fee Earner(s)
• Communicating with clients, agents, lenders, other parties Solicitors and mortgage brokers.
• Requesting and chasing of release of funds/advances from lenders
• Requesting and chasing redemption figures and statements from lender
• Preparation of Completion Statements,
• Preparation of Invoices
• Pre-Completion Searches (Priority, Bankruptcy etc)
• Preparation of Accounts Completion Package
• Preparation of exchange & completion letters
• Police the ‘putting on risk’ upon completion of any Indemnity Policy/Policies
• Preparation and submission of applications for registration
• Reviewing completion of registrations for accuracy
• Preparation of post completion of registration letters (including scheduling of deeds)
• File closing and archiving (where appropriate/required)
• To use the Case Management System (CMS) to produce letters and documents without secretarial support.
• To be responsible for own caseload, referring all legal aspects to the Team Leader / Section Head.
• To assist with the preparation of bills and completion statements.
• To use the Case Management system (CMS) to action workflow entries on a daily basis.
• To ensure that high levels of customer service are maintained at all times.
• To provide guidance and assistance to the Team’s Administration Assistant when required to do so.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

To have at least 6 months experience in Conveyancing or legal processing or some form of legal qualification or training, such as ILEX or be working towards this.

To be competent with the operation of relevant IT facilities including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Previous experience of Legal Software desirable but training will be given on the use of the Practice’s database and legal software.
